Jeannie,
I just removed the popcorn from the ceiling in
my sons room. I used a spray bottle with warm water and a flat scraper. Spray the ceiling with
the water in a small area and let it set for 3 to
5 minutes then scrape it off with a flat scraper
and it should come off very easy. Do not let the water set on it to long or it will cause problems.
Jeannie this is a very messy job so cover everything in the room. I also found out that when I went to paint the smooth ceiling it sucked
up alot of paint (2gallons on a 10 by 14 ceiling)
The next ceiling I painted after removing the texture I used what is called new construction paint it will seal the dry wall board so it wont suck up all your good paint.Hope that helps.
