I called a local chimmney sweep to clean our fireplace. He left a not which stated that our fireplace was unsafe that we had 3rd stage creosote buildup and our crown was cracked and needed repairing. No one was at home and the quote to bring the fireplace back to commission was $276. I have never heard of 3rd stage creosote damage. Does this sound right?
