I used Celotex to sound proof an office that shared a wall with a bathroom. It's a bit of a task though. Celotex (A.K.A. BeaverBoard) is meant to be used as a sheathing under siding or drywall. This means removing the drywall, applying the Celotex, rehanging drywall (in some areas, common walls between condo units require 5/8 drywall as a fire barrier), retaping and painting.
