I too am in process of building a ramp for my brother-in-law. The website below has very good suggestions on how to build a deluxe ramp. I will probably build an easier version utilizing 4x8 ft. plywood for convienience and fewer cuts. Roll roofing can be applied to make the surface non-skid.
