living in Texas myself, there are communities that ban the use of cinderblock homes by code. I see this mostly in the rustic settings. It is much cheaper for install, but you still have your roof truses and eaves that must be standard material. You could do the walls on all fours with this. Insulattion is an issue as this is not very resistant at all. So, you will end up with very thick walls.
