Yes, steam will trip all smoke detectors. I have noticed that as smoke detectors get older, they usually get more sensitive and cause false alarms. If this has recently started, just replace the unit, if not, move it or add a battery powered unit. Remember, just outside of where people sleep is most important. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
