Great effort, as they say, a photo is worth a thousand words. Looking at photo 0077, it appears that the shower drain is inserted into the pvc drain, but not a sealed connection?? Hard to tell, but that's what it looks like. If so, a small amount of water could be splashing out and gradually building up causing the stain. The high humidity in that area could also do it.
