The old house we recently purchased had new ceramic tile laid over very old lineoleum(sp?). The tiles chip and show stains very easily, leading me to believe that they were not sealed. I want to install vinyl tile, but am afraid of asbestos in the old lineoleum. What is the best way to remove the ceramic tile? What would be the downside to laying the vinyl over the tile?
