When you say you adjusted the vents, have you checked for dampers in the ducting (not at the register) to make sure it is wide open?
Another possibility is to increase furnace fan speed to improve circulation.
Duct booster fans can be installed in the ductwork to boost air flow to the room.
Insulating the ductwork, as Steve said can also help.
