I want to replace my patio roof. I currently am using 4"x1" tongue and groove but I must have bought the wrong kind of wood because it is being slowly weakened by rot from some sort of fungus. I have roofing material over it. The rot is occurring on the inner side. What type of lumber should I use and does it need to be treated?
