Sounds like the long 2x4 trick would work, but I get squeamish with those long rips on my radial-arm saw (no table saw :-( ). I suppose I could just cut a bunch of small pieces. I had quite a bit of trouble with some of the angles because I assumed the crown molding would tilt at 45 degrees. Actually it tilted at 36.5 degrees.
I'll try the drill trick on the pieces I haven't split yet...
