call your local building inspector and get the name of a lab and then send labeled samples of anything and everything you want analyzed. harold is absolutely correct...asbestos was used in many materials back then. keep in mind that if is not friable(flaking or coming apart in some way) it's best to leave it alone...abatement is VERY expensive
