We just bought a house built in the late 1930's. It appears that under the paint is a very thin old layer of wallpaper. It is slightly noticable where the seams are. I want to paint the rooms, but hesitate to take on all the rooms to remove all the paper. I am afraid I will make a bigger mess with the plaster. Someome suggested to me that the wallpaper may have been placed there to cover plaster cracks. Any suggestions as to which direction I should move?
