I got a 2 year old Williams wall heater with a pilot light that died. I discovered that it doesn't have a thermocouple, it has some really big tubular thing they call a pilot light generator. It also has several other doodads like a vent safety shutoff device. So I'm guessing here that the generator gives more voltage than a thermocouple? And what resistance should a good one measure when cold?
