We are buying a 60 year old house and there is one thing that came up in the inspection that is puzzling. All through the house the nail heads are showing through the paint on the walls. I am wondering, could this be from a lack of primer before the first coat of paint was applied? Will priming now and repainting cover them permanently? They are not sticking out, just showing through (like someone has drawn little grey circles on the wall).
