Hi George,

I was wandering thru a Bob Villa bulletin board and came across your request for this song (from Jan 6, 2000).
I didn't know Arthur Godfrey sang this song.

A friend and I were rummaging thru some old, thick 78 rpm records at a flea market a few years ago and I came across this record.
There was a Thomas Edison label on it and the title was of course Slap her down again, Paw.

I couldn't believe the title of the song.
I laughed and showed Jake the record. He about peed his pants. He said his grandfather had a juke box with that record in it. Of course I didn't believe him so I asked him to sing it.

HE DID!! He sang the first verse, all that he could remember. What a hilarious song.

The sad part is I DIDN'T BUY THE RECORD!!!!

So, I am wondering if you ever came across a copy. I would like to buy one as a gift for Jake, or at least a recording of it on CD.

Please let me know if you have any more info about this song.
