I have an older house that was renovated about 25 years ago. The drywall work was done around 1978.
On a number of walls and the ceiling, the tape is losing adhesion and lifting. Being recently unemployed, this is a project I now have time to tackle. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to start with the tape?
Right off the top of my head, here are a few questions:
1) Is there a difference if the quality of the paper tape available? Will I get good tape just going to the local Home Depot? Are some brands better than others?
2) Is the paper tape or the mesh tape the best to use for this type of repair?
3) When doing the roof, will I need to sand down the entire roof and respray it?
