With a floating floor, there is 'air' below the surface. That's what's causing all the 'noise'. And that's why a 'solid' hardwood floor doesn't have the problem because there is no air gap. The foam has air in it.
Sure, you may save yourself some time by just filling and covering but, as you now realize, you may VOID a Warranty. Hey - Will your 'experts' guarantee your work?
