I have a section of my first floor that squeeks noticeably when you walk on it. I have pinpointed the floor area down in the basement. The squeek comes from a section of the floor where two pieces of the plywood come together at their corners. What is the best way to fix the squeek? Are there products one can use to secure the subfloor between the joists better, or are there techniques using 2x material to adqequately secure the floor and stop the squeek?
