Stanley/Whistler ST605 Opener

I purchased a Stanley/Whistler ST605 garage door opener about 3-4 years ago. It came with a lifetime warranty on the opener. Now the opener is not working and when I called the warranty number I get some other company trying to sell me parts. I said it was under warranty and they tell me the company is gone. Whistler may be gone but Stanley isn't and there logo and name is all over this thing... and there is no indication it isn't their product. If it hadn't been a Stanley I probably wouldn't have bought it. Anyone deal with this issue? Any advice? Please e-mail me to let me know.
