I purchased a brand new furnance in 1999 from a major company and was recently told by a service man that that the furnance I had installed in 1999 was a 1994 model. Additonally he told me when you purchase a brand new furnance the model of the furnance and the year I purchased it should not differ by more than a year. Is this correct?
