I, too, recently aquired a very old cast iron clawfoot tub. I'm determined to do the refinishing myself, but want to make sure I start off on the right foot. It only has a couple of small chips that need to be repaired before re-glazing, and the feet are very rusted, and I intend to restore the whole tub to it's original glory. Any suggestions on books/authors for some reading-up before I start? Also, are there other methods for removing the rust on the outside of the tub other than sand-blasting? I appreciate any input!
