Hi Bob We have a liftmaster garage door opener and on Thursday dec 5 2002 i had steptout to pick up my daughter and the door was working fine when i returned the door started to make a funny noise and the door stopped half way and i then tried to push the door open manually when that failed I then pulled the release latch and manually opened door but since then the motor still runs but the chain does not move and also the plastic ring on the inside does not turn in either direction. We have owned the opener for approx 12 yrs can you please tell us what can be wrong and how can we fix it and/or also is it worth fixing since these days they are cheaper to purchase but also keeping in mind that these days they are not made from quality pls help us sincerely joe thanks and Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!
