I recently purchased a house with an uneven basement height running form 5 ft to 7ft with no subfloor just cement or ceiling cover. I want to put in a subfloor and ceiling and maintain an eight foot ceiling. Several people have mentioned to me to lift the house and redo the basement walls but im little skeptical about that. I thought about digging it out and redoing it that way. Any suggestions or comments that will help me in doing this with the lowest cost and best result. I of course am working on a budget for this..
