Yes when we bought our house it had one already in place so I don't know where it came from. It is basically a box with a flap or damper that allows you to have the heat go out the external vent or directly into the house. This one just has a round opening that we put a nylon sock on to filter out the extra lint. I know it is a great source of extra humidity during the winter months.
