you will get two different stain effects with the same stain since you have two woods. After your prep, meaning filling in, sanding and all be sure to coat the wood with a good wood conditioner, read the instructions and you will see its benefit, then stain one wood then mix and experiment with the other wood to make it the same. Use two scraps of same species to do the testing on.
