Does anyone know if I would realize an improvement in my home's energy efficiency if I put an R-19 insulation in the floor joists above the crawl space? Also, I am putting a 6 mil. vapor barrier on the crawl space floor to control moisture. Is it mandatory to put stone or rock over the top of the barrier for it to be effective?
