I have been laying ceramic tile floors in apartments, (kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms) for the maintenance department for several months. now I have been asked to bid on a tile job to do on the side as a subcontractor. i live in southwestern Missouri and don't know what to charge by the square foot for laying the tile and what to charge by the square foot for laying the backer board (hardy board).
this first job "on the side" might lead to a business for myself. i don't want to overcharge, but at the same time, i don't want to leave any money on the table either.
can you advise me on what to charge for labor only?
also, will you please e-mail me your suggestions?
