holes on the outside of house from former owner's dogs

Help! The house my daughter is buying has two holes in the siding because the owner put dog houses up against the house with a hole accessable for the dogs to enter and exit. The dog houses are still there; one hole which was in the dining area has been patched inside; the second hole is in an extra room which was used mostly for the dogs. How can these holes be fixed quickly without spending a lot of money? We would feel more secure with the holes patched as soon as we move in.
