Lexel caulk

I used Lexel caulk to seal my bathroom counter top to the wall. I got it all over the counter top and the wall, the counter top is laminated, what can I use to take it off so as to not mess up the top. The tube says to use mineral spirits, does anyone think this will ruin the top? Also what can I use to take it off completely. This stuff just does not want to come off at all.
