"Dave's friend" is right. When they sized the capacity of the furnace to the house, they included those rooms you are not heating. The flow
of air in the system will be restricted if you shut of the supplys to those rooms, the heat ex-
changer gets too hot, and the high limit switch
will kick off the burners. This reduces the life
of the heat exchanger, and is using the limit
switch to control the furnace. (not it's intended
use)
