I have a Lennox home heating/cooling with electronic ignition about ten years old.I want to install a two way switch on the 120 volt line from the 20 amp. breaker in the box so that I can switch the supply to a stand-by generator in case of an incoming power failure (the air conditioning would not be involved). Is there any other power supply to the furnace for the thermostat and/or ignitor? Can I expect the furnace and its blower to operate when I switch to the standby generator as described?
