I have a 20'x24' attached garage, and I want to add joists and put a floor up to create an attic in the garage. My dilemna: The joists are 2x10s, I think they are 16-20" on center (I haven't measured yet), and 24 feet long. Will this be strong enough for a 3/4" plywood floor, or do I need additional support? 24 feet seems like a wide span!
