be prepared to have a set of architectural drawings and have to pull a permit to do this addition in the attic, especially if you consult with the local building dept. ,,,which is the corect and safest way to go anyway. A good set of plans drawn up by a certified/licensed architect will define the size of the floor joist required to safely carry the intended load. good luck LJ
