I'm finishing my basement and I'm being told that in order to get combustible air to my existing HVAC unit that I need to vent a 6" pipe to the exterior of my house or the HVAC unit won't work. Is this true?
and why can't I just install a large vent in the wall of the utility room to pull air from the rest of the basement.
