I recently finished part of my basement but don't have enough headroom to put in a drop ceiling. I am considering painting the ceiling but am concerned that removing the installation that is visible will cause extreme heat loss. I live in New England and don't know the ramifications of removing the insulation from an unfinished basement ceiling. Any suggestions?
