I get the pipe hammering sound only when I turn on hot water in the shower; no sound for hot water elsewhere in the house. An alternative to eliminate the noise is when I turn on cold water first on high, then turn on hot water. Do the reverse when turn off shower to avoid the noise. Is there something I can do to hot water knob to stop hammering sound, such as replacing washer?
