and the upstairs bathroom. how long has this been going on ,,just recently or just recently noticed it but has been going on for years???

how close is the fireplace chimney on the roof to the vent pipe for this bathroom? maybe the smoke for the fireplace is affecting the ventilation function of this one bathroom vent pipe and causing sewer gases to back up into the house!!! dont know. give us more info. LJ
