I've read all the messages on how to cover over asbestos siding. It would seem to me the best way would be to screw 1/2 plywood to the walls over the siding,THEN cover over with what ever materials you like. The new materials would be fastened to the plywood, not the old siding, so breakage should not be a problem. If someone doesn't agree please come forward, I am just postulating on this. Also, would covering over provide a problem with moisture in the walls. The house I am looking at has no moisture problems at this time with the current siding. Would I be creating one?
