Kevin, I painted over my laminated kitchen cabinets about 3 years ago. (And strangely enough, I did about what Henry suggested.) The only things I regret are: 1) The plastic edging (sorry, I don't know the technical term) around the doors didn't hold the paint. I suggest you replace with the correct color. 2) The paint I used was "ok", and held just fine, but shows more fingerprints than I'd like. My cousin used a great marine-based paint that came from Denmark(?) or near there for his his kitchen cabinets that is GREAT!!!! No marks, great even finish, but requires careful application (and several coats). Sorry, I don't remember the name, but a good paint store may be able to find out for you.
