Kimberly, We just bought a house with the same problem. They look terrible. I was roaming around Home Depot the other day and saw this stuff you can stick to the windows to kind of dress them up. They have several designs. I'm considering trying to shop around other stores for designs that don't completely block views but will cover the junk. Can't afford to replace windows yet, but also can't stand to look at them! Good luck!
