Waterstains on wood

I am building my home and installed some sand-blasted Doug.Fir Beams. Unfortunately I was caught by a rain storm and now I have water
stains on the beams. Is bleaching the only way to get rid of the stains. Or is there a better way without damadgeing the natural finish of the beams. My intension are to put a clear finish on the beams.
