For a majority of the basement wall I'm building a 2X4 frame for the walls. But one area next to a set of stairs I don't want to use 2X4 framing, but want to use 2X4's as furing strips. I have been using the 2 1/2" hammer activated nail gun to attach other framing pieces to the concrete floor. Can I also use the same 2 1/2" nail gun to attach the 2X4 to the wall. That would leave the nail being blasted into the concrete 1". My worry is that the wall might crack. I have a house that is 3 years old and is a poured slab concrete wall. I will be placing pine tongue and groove boards over the wall framing. Thanks in advance for any advice......Scott
