install using staple hammer or staple gun with paper side against the drywall. The paper will serve as your vapor barrier. more importantly make sure your floor joist are sized adequately for the livng space weight. we finished out a part of our walkin attic for living space and to hold our full size pool table ..the architect and contract put in 2x12 joist ,,,originally we had only 2x6 joist. you may not need to go to 2x12 but rather still may need something larger than 2x6s...I would suggest you consult a licensed architect for this remodel. the architect will also make sure your rafters are sized properly to handle weight of the drywall--that stuff can get heavy....... dont want that floor or roof to sag or buckle under load. good luck LJ
