I've done the same in the past, figuring that folk live up north when its turned out they live in the deep south.
I've also seen forum lurkers in one climate lock on to renovating methods meant for people in another climate. The result? Ineffective methods and in some cases, moisture problems/water/mold in the framing cavitites.
"Dangerous thread" may have been strongly worded, but asking Woody's location is a simple question that really should be answered up front.
