Tommy, if this is a vinyl faced paper you'll need to peel the surface or score it first with a PaperTiger, but it sounds like plain paper.
In a pump-up garden sprayer, mix a solution of distilled white vinegar and warm water; 1 cup vinegar per gallon of water.
Spray the mixture onto the paper in 4' wide areas and let soak for 5 minutes, then respray. After another 5 to 10 minutes, scrape the paper with a 4 to 6" wide putty knife. It should easily release. It varies paper to paper how wet you'll need to get it, so it may need a third coat and a little more time.
Have some rags handy to mop up excess water that runs to the floor, and after a section is cleaned I like to use a large sponge dipped in warm water to wash any remaining glue residue off the wall.
