Joel, I agree with LJ. The only thing I'd add is that probably more important than the vinyl backing remains is the stability of those 2 sheets of 1/4" underlayment. You'll want to be sure they are tightly fastened down with no motion between the surface and the joists below, because there may be a vinyl backing between the two underlay's, too.
