I live in a 125 year old frame house, which is in good condition. We are remodeling the current 2nd floor bathroom and would like to use a cast iron tub weighing 376 pounds (and 752 pounds with water). The current tub is acrylic, but is cracked so we haven't filled it with water and tested the weight. Should we be concerned about the weight of the cast iron tub? Does the floor need to be reinforced? If so, would that be something the bathtub installer could do? We would like to do as much of the project ourselves as possible. Thanks!
