i am going to tile my floor with saltillo tile. the subfloor is 5/8" ply ontop of 1x10's lying flat on the joists giving me 1&3/8" of subfloor. i've screwed it all down to the joists as the nails were squeaking. it's quite solid now. do i still need to put down backerboard ? or is this enough?
