I have a red brick fireplace in my living room that is very big (8'w x 9'h) and goes from floor to ceiling, it has a mantal. The rest of the room is very traditional/eclectic/english country with high ceilings crown molding, chairail. The room has valence tailored cornice board curtains, tassels. Which is the best option for toning down the red and least amount of maintainance and cost effective.
Q. can I paint the brick, whats preperation.
How far do I paint into the actual fire burning area.
Q. if I try a painted marbel or granite will you still see the outlines of the original brick.
Q. can I do a stucco over the brick.
Q. should I cover the fairplace with wood trim to match the rest of the house.
Q. what is your suggestions.
